CAN de Football: Issa Hayatou justifie les choix de la CAF

Après l’euphorie de l’attribution de l’organisation de la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations de football des éditions (CAN) de 2019, 2021 et 2023, l’heure est venue au réalisme.

Lors de la conférence de presse qu’il a animée dès après la cérémonie proclamation, le Président de la Confédération africaine de football (CAF), a donné la raison de l’octroi de l’organisation de la CAN à tel ou tel pays et pour telle ou telle éditions. On sait que les trois heureux élus sont le Cameroun pour la CAN 2019, la Côte d’Ivoire pour 2021 et la Guinée pour l’édition de 2023.

Pour Issa Hayatou, deux éléments ont milité en faveur des trois pays: «les conclusions de la mission d’évaluation dépêchée dans chaque pays-candidat et le dossier de candidature présenté et défendu par le Comité préparatoire de chacun».

Le Président de la CAF a appuyé son intervention en affirmant que «le Comité exécutif a travaillé d'arrache-pied durant l'Assemblée générale de la CAF».

D’autres éléments d’importance sont venus soutenir le choix de ces pays, a relevé l’enfant de Garoua au Cameroun: «Nous nous sommes penchés sur la violence dans les stades, l'épidémie de la fièvre Ebola et la tricherie sur les âges des joueurs africains».
