Pour la première fois de son histoire la Guinée s’achemine vers des élections libres et ouvertes le 27 Juin 2010. Les candidats sont en campagnes depuis le 17 mai et chacun souhaite obtenir des soutiens.

Le général Sékouba Konaté, président de la transition a pris l’engagement devant la communauté nationale et internationale d’organiser des élections libres et transparentes.

La Guinée revient de loin. Le 28 Septembre 2009, la junte dirigée par le Capitaine Moussa Dadis Camara a massacré des guinéens qui manifestaient, réclamant les élections libres et transparentes.

Un accord pour une sortie de crise a été signé à Ouagadougou le 15 Janvier 2010. Depuis lors, le Général Sékouba Konaté affiche la posture d’un homme qui veut entrer dans l’histoire en organisant les élections libres que les guinéens réclamaient le 28 Septembre 2009. Il a pris le risque calculé d’écarter des affaires de l’Etat son compagnon d’armes Moussa Dadis Camara. C’était le choix le plus difficile, il est un héros national et les guinéens ont pour la plupart pardonné ses erreurs.
