Le procureur général égyptien Abdel-Meguid Mahmoud a décidé dimanche d'interroger l'ancien président Hosni Moubarak et ses deux fils, Alaa et Gamal, à propos des accusations sur l'utilisation de la force contre les manifestants, selon la presse locale.

L'interrogation portera aussi sur les accusations selon lesquelles Moubarak et ses fils auraient profité de leur influence pour acquérir des fonds publics et obtenir des commissions, rapporte l'Agence de presse officielle égyptienne MENA.

La chaîne Al-Arabiya a diffusé dimanche une déclaration de M. Moubarak, enregistrée à Charm el-Cheikh où il est assigné à résidence. Dans cette déclaration, l'ex-président a défendu lui- même et sa famille et démenti les accusations.

"Je suis fortement peiné par les campagnes injustes et les accusations sans fondement qui visent ma réputation et mon histoire", a-t-il dit.

Dans la déclaration, première depuis qu'il a cédé le pouvoir le 11 février, Moubarak a aussi promis de permettre au ministère des Affaires étrangères d'enquêter sur ses comptes bancaires à l'étranger.

Les autorités actuelles de l'Egypte interdisent à M. Moubarak, son épouse Suzanne, ses deux fils ainsi que leurs épouses de quitter le pays et gèlent leurs biens. - Xinhua
